Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 27, 2026 | This policy is reviewed and updated at least once per year.

Who We Are

This website is owned and operated by Great American Dining, Inc. (“The Common Man,” “we,” “us”), PO Box 581, Ashland, NH 03217.

What Information We Collect, and Why

We only collect personal information for the specific purposes below:

  • Contact and inquiry forms. If you fill out a form on this site (contact, event, or reservation inquiry), we collect the information you provide — such as your name, email address, phone number, and message — solely so we can respond to your inquiry and provide the service you requested.
  • Email signups. If you sign up for our newsletter or offers, we collect your email address solely to send you those communications. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Website analytics (only with your consent). If — and only if — you click “Accept” on our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to collect anonymous statistics about how visitors use our site (pages visited, time on site, general region). We use this solely to understand how the site is used and to improve it. If you do not accept, no analytics run and no tracking cookies are set. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings link on this site. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Where Your Information Is Stored

All information collected through this website is stored on secure servers located in the United States, operated by our commercial web hosting providers. Your information is not transferred outside the United States. Contact and inquiry submissions are stored in the website’s database and delivered by email to the staff members responsible for responding.

How We Protect Your Information

We use technical and physical safeguards to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption in transit: all pages and forms on this site use TLS/SSL encryption (the padlock in your browser).
  • Firewall protection: the site is protected by a web application firewall that monitors and blocks malicious traffic.
  • Secure facilities: our hosting providers maintain physical and network security protections at their data centers.
  • Restricted access: administrative access to the website and its stored data is limited to a small number of authorized individuals, each with unique login credentials.
  • Data minimization: stored form submissions do not include visitor IP addresses or browser identifiers.

How Long We Keep Information

  • Contact and inquiry form submissions are retained for up to two (2) years from the date of submission, after which they are permanently deleted from the website’s database.
  • Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, at which point your address is removed from our active mailing lists.
  • Analytics data (collected only with your consent) is retained by Google Analytics for a maximum of 14 months and then automatically deleted by Google.
  • Routine server and security logs maintained by our hosting providers are automatically deleted on a short cycle.

When personal information is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected, it is permanently deleted or anonymized so it can no longer be associated with you.

IP Addresses

We do not use IP addresses to identify or track visitors. Our analytics tool (Google Analytics 4) does not log or retain IP addresses. Like all websites, our web server briefly processes IP addresses in routine technical and security logs, which are automatically deleted on a short cycle and not used for any other purpose.

How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Information is shared only with the service providers necessary to operate this website (such as our web hosting provider, and Google Analytics if you consent to cookies), and only for the purposes described above.

Your Choices

You may contact us at any time to ask what information we have about you, or to request that it be corrected or deleted. You may decline or withdraw cookie consent at any time without affecting your ability to use the site.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
